She stood by the well
for the hundredth time,
too weary to drop her bucket
when a strange man appeared
and began talking with her.
Never mind who you have been
Never mind what people say.
Never mind your fears –
listen to your heart.
There you will discover
your true self.
There you will find your strength.
There you will discover the living well.
There you will grow in trust
for this water will never run dry.
Let the roots of your longing
reach into the wellspring of eternity.
Let the waters swell
gushing forth, flowing up and out.
Let the energy of this force
give you light in the your darkness.
Let the current of this living water
carry you back into the rhythm of life.
